About Me

Welcome to VE7PMD! I’m Mason, an amateur radio operator in British Columbia. I was first licensed in 2018 and earned my Advanced qualification in 2026.

So where do we start? Radio caught my interest when I was younger, but I never had the time to sit down with it. In 2018 I finally sat down and got my licence, after a great friend of mine encourged me to go get my licence. And that sent me down the amateur radio rabbit hole. I’m still learning something new almost every day!

Most of my operating is mobile or from our club’s remote station. I’m the 2025–2027 President of the Nanaimo Amateur Radio Association (NARA) and a member of the COAST Emergency Communications Association (CECA). My main interests are APRS, packet, MeshCore and DMR.
